A little bit about what we do

Whether you you’ve heard of us or you are just hearing us, you’re probably asking yourself, "Where is all of this music coming from?"
What you will be hearing and seeing is the culmination of many years of painstaking effort put forth by the two people you see (or are going to see) performing in front of you.  We—Missy and Todd Shay of Mortisha’s Secret, made a vow many years ago to deliver to you (the listener) the best form of musical entertainment found possible.

How many times have you gone to a club or a concert with high expectations only to be disappointed by the fact that the sound is bad or the songs themselves don’t quite sound the way they are supposed to?
The advent of a certain musical technology known as MIDI and the art of "sequencing" made famous by such 80’s pioneers like Thomas Dolby, Howard Jones, Nick Rhodes (of Duran Duran), Devo, and Prince have inspired us to solve this problem.

The music we play is indeed VERY MUCH LIVE!  The vocals are real, the guitar is real, and the drums, synthesizers, and bass guitars are very real.  It is not pre-recorded background music being played off some tape or CD player.  The drums are not loops or samples.  And most importantly, to all of the non-believers…THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT KARAOKE!  This is technology!
The third and most important member of this band is the sequencer.  This special piece of music gear actually plays the drums, synthesizers, and bass guitars by emitting electronic signals to each of their respected modules.  Each song is carefully constructed from SCRATCH by both of us.  The whole process takes a very long time before it is complete, but the end result is TRULY SONIC!

That is why we have chosen this path.  Long gone are the days of drummers getting "sloshed" and
not being able to keep the correct time or bass players not showing up for gigs because they got into a fight with their girlfriend.
WELCOME TO THE NEW MILLENNIUM!
Groups like Local H and The White Stripes have proven that really good music isn’t just restricted to bands that have more than two members!

So thanks for listening, and please enjoy!
